About Us
The Clinical Neuroscience Consortium (CNC)
is a collaborative platform jointly established by the LKS Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong (HKUMed) and Queen Mary Hospital (QMH), under the purview of HKU Health System to integrate clinical services, research, education, and advocacy in clinical neuroscience.

A Disease‑Oriented,
Chapter‑Based Model
The CNC adopts a chapter-based structure to facilitate transdisciplinary collaboration. Each Chapter functions as a specialised unit that brings together HKUMed and QMH clinicians, scientists and researchers from multiple disciplines and departments to focus on specific neurological conditions.
CNC is committed to

Enhancing integrative, transdisciplinary clinical services

Strengthening evidence-based practices and quality assurance

Accelerating clinical research and bench-to-bedside translation

Promoting patient education and advocacy
Our Shared Vision
Professor CS Lau
Vice-President & Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health) and Dean of Medicine
The University of Hong Kong
Advances in neuroscience are reshaping how we understand and care for conditions of the brain and nervous system. At HKUMed, our role is to advance healthcare by generating knowledge, nurturing talent, and ensuring that discovery translates into meaningful impact. Together with Queen Mary Hospital, we are building a collaborative platform that supports innovation, advances neuroscience, and ultimately improves outcomes for people living with neurological conditions.

Dr. Theresa Li
Cluster Chief Executive, Hong Kong Island Cluster
Hospital Authority
Queen Mary Hospital is dedicated to providing safe, high‑quality, and compassionate care for people with complex and often life‑changing neurological conditions. Delivering such care requires strong coordination across specialties, services, and care settings. The Clinical Neuroscience Consortium enhances our ability to do this by strengthening collaboration between hospital teams and academic partners. This integrated approach supports timely decision‑making, continuity of care, and the adoption of evidence‑based innovations into daily clinical practice.

Professor Gilberto Leung
Convenor of Clinical Neuroscience Consortium
The Clinical Neuroscience Consortium was established to create a new way of working in clinical neuroscience. Bringing together experts from transdisciplinary fields to focus on specific neurological conditions, we foster the seamless integration of clinical expertise and innovative research, envisioning a transformative platform that redefines clinical neuroscience and enhances patient outcomes in Hong Kong. By aligning care, research, and education around shared goals, we aim to address complex neurological challenges more effectively and responsibly.

Governance Structure
CNC is jointly governed by HKUMed and QMH to ensure that clinical priorities, research insights and patient needs remain aligned across both institutions. Strategic oversight is provided by the CNC Steering Committee comprises of:
